Building on its experience in pharmaceutical and cosmetic communications, KeyWe redesigns the website for the international leader in Korean Beauty.
Kolmar Canada develops and manufactures cosmetics, skin and hair care products, OTC and body care products for global beauty brands. The Canadian company has been in business for over 65 years and, following its acquisition by Kolmar Korea, has adopted a diversified business model.
Kolmar Korea was the first company to introduce the ODM business model to the Korean cosmetics industry. For this reason, Kolmar Korea is the group with the most extensive international experience.
KeyWe for Kolmar: an international project
KeyWe’s task was to revamp the Kolmar Canada website. The challenge was to convey the world of beauty without compromising the group’s identity, which is strongly linked to the pharmaceutical sector.
The design therefore combines freshness and colour with Kolmar Korea’s institutional guidelines, designed to convey the scientific research, reliability and customisation that characterise the products.
KeyWe’s experience
KeyWe faces the formidable challenge of its previous experience in pharmaceutical and cosmetic communications. The agency designed the website for Importfab, a leading Canadian pharmaceutical manufacturer that is part of the Italian group Labomar. KeyWe has also worked alongside Gotha Cosmetics, one of Italy’s most innovative companies in the development and manufacture of cosmetics for third parties.
Kolmar Canada and its membership of the group
With a revamped structure and layout, the new website showcases Kolmar Canada and the services it offers. It highlights its evolution and strengths, such as its new research and development department and the production capabilities of its factories.
However, the website must also highlight its membership of the group. An example of this is the page dedicated to Korean Beauty and the partnership with Kolmar Korea. Adherence to the parent company’s style in the layout also ensures visual consistency.
A design geared towards the beauty sector
KeyWe has chosen a design with visual references typical of the beauty sector. The graphic interface is minimalist, with a fresh, high-quality aesthetic. Colour is used extensively as a background to separate content, and is even more distinctive in the gradient version.
The photos contribute to the fresh and rich feel: mainly still lifes, characterised by vivid colours and textures reminiscent of cosmetics. Readability is ensured by alternating text on a white background and using two different fonts for headlines and text.
